Check out some of our skills we learnt with Cam. He reminded us how to pass the ball and what to call out when we took our opponent's rip. We played some fun activities as well.

Creating our Matariki Art
First we drew a horizon line. Then we drew the shape of our Kapiti Island. We looked at kowhaiwhai designs and koru patterns. We divided our paper into three sections- sky, land and sea and used vivid pens to outline our designs. We needed to choose cold colours, hot colours and earthy colours.
Then we used dye over the top to really show our crayon colours.
Then we added our Matariki Star cluster- can you see it?

Busy! Busy! What have we been up to?
Term 2 is full on already!
Here are some photo collages of some activities and learning we've been doing...
We listened to paramedic Kylie from St John's. We found out that children our age have lots of accidents so we learned some ways to be safe. Here we are practicing how to bandage an injury. Philip won the first aid kit for respectful listening and answering Kylie's questions.
Don't forget to comment below if you remember some ways to be safe or if you know the bandaging steps.

Using Chromebooks
Last week we borrowed Room 1's Chromebooks to have a go at creating our own Google Drawing telling people about us. First we named our work. Then we took a photo of ourselves and we wrote our name on our canvas. We wrote about ourselves and we got to change the colour of the background. We got to change the colour of our words and change the font to make our writing look fancy.

Our creations
We drew a background picture then we took a photo of our background and put it in Google Slides. Then we took a photo of us and we edited the photo and removed the background. We put our photo of us onto the photo of our background.
Then we wrote a story to go with our pictures.
