Otaki - our town

During lockdown when we were at home Mrs P put these photos together. We have to try and find out where they are from. Mrs P took all of these photos in Otaki.

Today we drew pictures and wrote stories about our favourite parts of Otaki. What is your favourite part of your town?

Lole drew the icecream shop, Kingston drew the 4 Square, and David wrote a story
Adriana, Hakopa, Danika, Tamatea, and Shaydon drew pictures of the beach

Action Words

After morning tea, we were reading a book. We listened to the story first, and then we were trying to find action words. Then we acted some of them out! Can you work out which words we are acting out?

Timo and the King Fish

This week we have been working on our art that we did last week. This is our kingfish that we did for Timo and the king fish.

We chose the part that we liked the best to publish on the wall. We chose the exciting part, the bit that makes people want to read more.
The part that we picked was the  part that you liked the best out of your story. It was the exciting part. It was terrific. And the funnest part and your favourite bit.
Here is Tamihana reading his exciting part.

Measurement

Last week Room 10 were doing some measuring with their rulers.

Puawai says "Always remember to start at the first line when you are measuring."

Jesse says "Always think about what you are measuring with, cm, mm, m or km."

Ko-Kii-Kaaa and Malo measuring playdough snakes using cm.

Timo's adventure

In Room 10 we wrote a story about Timo and a kingfish. We were writing a beginning, middle and end to our story.

This is the beginning part of Shaydon's story.

Here are David and Mason with their Kingfish. Kingfish are very big fish. Timo caught a Kingfish in the story.
